What is Adware?

Adware which can be also called Advertising Supported Software are rogue applications which have the potential and are able to collect your personal information from PC in order to display unwanted popunder advertisements, pop-ups and banners on the computer screen. This species of malicious programs are really very dangerous as Adware’s can track the internet browsing habit of the user and send them to the third party servers which delivers targeted advertisements as per the browsing pattern. Adware’s can damage your PC badly without your knowledge or consent.

It is really very difficult to find, detect or remove Adware from windows system. It is not likely to be removed using simple and convenient “Uninstall” method of Windows system. Adware’s and other threats have the ability to re-install themselves even when it appears that they are removed from the PC. So, it is recommended that, you use a good anti-adware or anti-spyware program to remove Adware from your Windows PC completely.

There are several ways by which your PC may get infected with Adware. Like it can come bundled with shareware, freeware downloadable software’s, may enter into the PC by displaying deceptive pop-ups and ads that contain links which looks like buttons reading ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ and most importantly they may get into your PC by installing lethal Trojans.

Adware Prevention and Remedies

With the ability of Adware’s to reappear even after they have been removed from the computer, it is really hard to prevent and remove them from PC. But you can still get rid of Adware’s following below mentioned methods –

• Remain Up to Date with Windows Security Updates – Always get latest Windows security update and install on your PC. This will help you to improve your computer’s security and you will be safe.
• Install a good anti-spyware software on your PC which will act as a shield between your PC and Adware and protect it from any Adware inventions.
• Update your anti-spyware software definitions on a regular basis at least once a day. This will help you to detect new Adware’s on your PC.
• Scan for Adware’s and other threats on your PC on a regular basis at least once a week.
